MIC  ERA

In the 2010s, the boy group M.I.C. emerged in a landscape largely dominated by K-pop, striving to establish a distinct "Made in China" identity within the Asian music industry. Despite their talent and strong artistic training, the group faced structural limitations, particularly due to the idol system as developed as that of South Korea. The decline of the recording industry and limited profits also reduced investment and affected M.I.C's competitiveness in the market.

Even so, Tan Jian Ci began his journey as a trainee in 2006 and debuted with the group in 2010, establishing himself as a singer, dancer, and a highly versatile performer. M.I.C. made its debut by winning the final of the MIGU Star Academy, laying an important foundation for his artistic career.

In 2014, the members announced they would pursue individual paths, though without a formal disbandment. The separation was amicable, marked by mutual respect and the absence of public conflict. Each member went on to develop their own creative journey, while the name M.I.C. has continued to exist officially.

Even after gaining recognition as an actor, Tan Jian Ci still keeps “MIC” in his Weibo profile, honoring his origins and maintaining an emotional connection with his early fans. After all, some stories do not end — they simply evolve.
