It was a celebrity competition program produced by Youku and Dragon TV, broadcast from December 5, 2020, to February 20, 2021. Bringing together 21 established male entertainers from different generations—including singers, actors, idol group members, and television personalities—the program challenged participants to reinvent themselves through live performances, intensive training, and team-based competitions. Rather than discovering new talent, "Shine! Super Brothers" sought to present a new perspective on artists who had already built successful careers.

For Tan Jian Ci, the program represents one of the defining milestones of his career. Although he was already recognized as a member of M.I.C. and had established himself as an actor, "Shine! Super Brothers" introduced his versatility as a singer, dancer, and performer to a much broader audience. Throughout the competition, he stood out for the consistency of his performances, his vocal ability, exceptional dance skills, and commanding stage presence, earning increasing recognition from both the audience and the judging panel. In the grand finale, he was selected as one of the seven "Shining Stars" and received the competition's highest honor, the title of "Annual Shining Star" (年度追光之星), becoming the overall winner of the season. The program is widely regarded as a turning point in his artistic journey, marking the beginning of a new phase in his career and laying the foundation for the remarkable rise in popularity he would achieve in the years that followed.
